Oct 04: Province level BES Jubilee Closing Ceremony was held on 11 August 2023 at Provincial House Silchar at 5 pm. Sr. Lucious BS, the Provincial Superior, lowered the Jubilee flag accompanied by the chanting of Jubilee Anthem and retreat beat of the drum. Thereafter a solemn thanksgiving Eucharist was offered by Rt. Rev. Joakim Walder, the Auxiliary Bishop of Aizawl diocese concelebrated with nine priests. Bishop Joakim lauded the yeomen service of BES to humanity, specially highlighting the service in North Eastern states, almost for 60 years, bravely facing the inconveniences and reaching out to the poor and girl children. The dream of our founder, is fulfilled in this region as the Bethany sisters reach out to the less privileged, offering value based, quality education, he added.
After the Mass a short cultural program was held to honour the veteran educationists Bethany sisters in the Northeast right from 1962. 17 retired sisters were honoured who trod the untraveled path with the light of knowledge tirelessly. The hostel students and candidates depicted the core values of Bethany in a creative way through skits and dances.
