March 3: St. Theresa’s School became a hub of scientific exploration and innovation with the successful organization of a two-part science exhibition, ‘Tiny Sprouts, Ready for Takeoff’ and ‘The Einstein Expo’. The events, held on February 22 and February 27, provided a platform for students to showcase their scientific knowledge and creativity.
The preliminary event, ‘Tiny Sprouts, Ready for Takeoff’, was held on February 22 as a precursor to the main exhibition. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Naveen Paul, Co-Founder and CEO of Draw My Career, who lauded the students for their enthusiasm and inventive approach to science. Students from grades 1 to 5 presented models, charts, and exhibits demonstrating their understanding of scientific concepts, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. The event was judged by Mrs. Jasmine Moreira and Mrs. Savitha Albuquerque, who commended the students’ efforts.
Building on this momentum, the grand event, ‘The Einstein Expo’, took place on February 27, featuring participants from grades 1 to 9. The exhibition was inaugurated with scientific demonstrations, including the elephant’s toothpaste experiment and dancing flames, setting an energetic tone for the day. Dr. Vaishali Rai M, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Microbiology at St. Aloysius College, Mangaluru, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, alongside Principal Sr. Lourdes, Vice Principal Sr. Reena, PTA Vice President Mrs. Collette Cabral, and teacher Mrs. Juliet.
Students presented innovative projects across themes such as environmental sustainability, technology, and real-world scientific applications. The exhibits highlighted practical solutions to global challenges, collaborative research, and the integration of science into everyday life. Enthusiastic discussions between students and visitors created an engaging and inspiring atmosphere.
In her address, Dr. Vaishali Rai M commended the school for its dedication to fostering scientific inquiry and suggested collaboration with the Ministry of Education to further nurture student talent. Principal Sr. Lourdes expressed appreciation for the students’ efforts and extended gratitude to Mrs. Jasmine Moreira for her coordination of the event.
The science exhibition series at St. Theresa’s School reaffirmed its commitment to encouraging innovation, discovery, and analytical thinking among students. By bridging theory with practice and curiosity with creativity, the school continues to shape young minds ready to make meaningful contributions to the world of science and beyond.
