The Holy Cross Fathers North East Province, acknowledge the collaboration of Bethany sisters in many centres in North East with appreciation to Bethany sisters and their contribution to the development of Holy Cross Schools in various centres and other valuable services specially in the area of Education and health care rendered to the people of the locality ever since Bethany ventured into North East in the year 1962.

The Holy Cross Girls’ Hostel in Agartala was established in 1974. It was under Holy Cross Fathers and managed by them with the assistant of the Principal taking additional responsibility of its administration. However Bethany sisters had been assisting in Holy Cross Girls’ Hostel with regard to minding their studies, guiding them and maintaining discipline. It was handed over fully to be managed by the sisters on 1^st April 2018 so as to enable them to offer total quality service to the Hostel Girls specially to look after the well being of the teenage girls from class 5 to class 12 students.

The service to the poor and the marginalized at Holy Cross Girls’ Hostel, Agartala was joyously rendered by the wardens such as Sr. Rosia, Sr. Isabella, Sr Sjana and Sr. Sunitha Mary D Souza. They took care of children with the able assistants and looked after them with maternal care. Presently Sr. Veronica Zohmingliani is carrying on this great mission.  

Sr. Veronica Zohmingliani with the help of community sisters toil hard for the wellbeing of the students and motivate them to have an aim in life. The hostellers are given needed help specially supervised study, library facilities, spiritual animation, counseling facilities and also financial help.

At present there are only 12 students among whom 2 are B.Ed students, 7 are in Class 12 and 2 are in class 8 and one is in class 7. Since Holy Cross School follows ICSE/ ISC Board new academic session will be started in the month of June for class 11. These children came from the villages and their parents are not able to motivate and their characters and behaviour need constant checking. Majority of their parents are poor and illiterate.
