March 31: The official visit of Rev. Sr. Rose Celine BS, the Superior General of Bethany Congregation and the President of Bethany Educational Society was held on 18th March 2021 for St.Theresa’s School, Bendur. The presence of Rev. Sr. Rose Celine in the school campus was a source of immense joy for the students and staff alike. Sr.Cleopha, the Administrator of the Mother House and Sr. Anita Shanthi, the Superior of the Bethany Convent also graced the occasion.
To honour the visit, a rapturous welcome programme was executed by the students of the Secondary Section. At the onset, God’s blessings were invoked with Prayer and Intentions followed by a rhythmic prayer dance. A mime was performed highlighting the importance of parents and teachers as role models to help the students reach great heights of success through education. It also wonderfully showcased the ordeal faced by the teaching fraternity during the pandemic and the triumph of the educators. A soulful dance by the students accentuated the greatness of our patroness St. Therese of Lisieux who followed the path of simplicity, love and selflessness. Servant of God Rev. Fr. RFC Mascarenhas understood the significance of educating the girl child for a better nation and this was beautifully portrayed through an impactful skit based on famous Indian women personality that created an awareness of women empowerment.
Rev. Sr. Rose Celine enlightened the gathering with her genteel words of hope and faith in God’s mighty love. She gave glory to God for his hands of protection that has shielded us through this pandemic. A great lesson to be learnt through this ongoing fragile situation of the pandemic is the emotion of empathy. Students were called upon to reflect on their experience and share it with the audience.
Rev. Sr. Rose Celine addressed the staff in the meeting and thanked them for the dedication towards their service in these turbulent times of the pandemic. She encouraged all not to fear the unknown and have strong belief in the benevolent presence of the Almighty.
