Nov 19: On November 7, 2024, St. Raymond’s Pre-University College in Vamanjoor celebrated Kannada Puneeth Parva, a day to honor the formation of Karnataka as a state and celebrate Kannada language and culture. The event was organized with great excitement, bringing together students, staff, and guests to celebrate the spirit of Karnataka.
The event began with the lighting of the lamp, accompanied by the song "Hacchevu Kannadada Deepa." The students performed a variety of cultural programs, including classical and folk dances, along with Kannada songs that showcased the rich traditions of the state.
Mrs. Yashodha, a Kannada Lecturer from Government PU College, Balmatta, was the Chief Guest. She spoke about the importance of preserving and promoting the Kannada language and culture, especially among young people.
The PTA President, Mrs. Devanandini Marla, also shared her thoughts on the value of the Kannada language and how it shapes Karnataka’s identity. Principal Sr. Anita Lydia praised the beauty and simplicity of Kannada and encouraged students to learn and use the language. She invited students to write poems or stories in Kannada to become the future poets of the state.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Shravya expressing gratitude to all who contributed to making Kannada Puneeth Parva a memorable event.
The entire program was coordinated by Mr. Hemanth, lecturer in Kannada. The program was compered by Deepika, Anisha and Roulathul.
The Kannada Puneeth Parva celebration at St. Raymond’s Pre-University College reminded everyone of the pride we take in our state and its culture. It also encouraged everyone to continue supporting and promoting Kannada traditions for future generations.
