March 01 : School leadership has been identified as another critical element of student success. The investiture Ceremony is a platform to showcase this leadership skill and abilities of the students and is also the most prestigious ceremony in the schedule of school events. Keeping this in mind, St. Theresa’s School had their Junior Investiture Ceremony on the 23rd of February, 2022 where 37 Student Leaders took an oath to serve their institution with pride.
The ceremony began with the arrival of the Chief Guest Dr Ashwini Colaco being given the Guard of Honour by the School Band. The Vice Principal of the School, Sr. Caron delivered the Welcome Speech. The newly formed School Council members were then given their respective sashes by the Principal, Vice Principal, Chief Guest and all the Kindergarten and Primary school teachers. The oath ceremony was facilitated by the School Principal, Sr Lourdes. The oath was solemnly taken by the Junior Student Council who swore to uphold the virtues and ideals of their school. The School Anthem was sung harmoniously by all the students as a mark of respect after the leaders accepted the responsibilities given to them.
The proud members of the newly elected Council along with all the students of Grades 3 to 5 then marched with poise and confidence amidst the beat of the school band. Dr Ashwini Colaco enlightened the audience with her motivational ideas and infectious enthusiasm. She emphasized on the 5 qualities of leadership- impact, influence, inspire, ignite and I as an Individual.
Donning the mantle of responsibility, the newly appointed Head Boy, Cahill Moses Dsilva pledged to dispense his duties to the best of his ability and also provide support to every single member in the cabinet for the smooth functioning of the duties entrusted to them. A very lively entertaining dance lifted the spirits of the entire gathering which included the proud parents of the cabinet members in attendance. The Principal then awarded the trophy and shield to the Best and Second Best House Groups. She also congratulated the elected students and inspired them to reflect on the year gone by and to approach the coming year with a renewed vigour, purpose and direction. Stephanie Anika Anchan and Tiesha, the members of the new Cabinet, proposed the vote of thanks. The Ceremony ended with the audience singing the National Anthem.
