Jan 21, 22: 2016-17 has been a successful year for Bethany Convent School, Kolkhe Panvel. We opened the academic year with a long awaited good news of cent 100% result for our school in the SSC Board Exams. Our SSC batch of 2015-16 brought cent percent result. We were all prepared to felicitate them during the Republic day celebrations, mean while when we received good news on 22nd January 2017, from Nepal where 6 of our students from class VI and VIII had gone to participate in the International open langadi tournament as part of the Indian team. The news was that they defeated teams from Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Korea, Bangladesh and even the Home team Nepal and emerged as the Champions. They match were played on 21st and 22ndJanuary 2017. Vinit Gharat, Umesh Waghmare, Vishal Naik, Mayur Katkari, Pranav and Ajay are the six students who have brought glory for our school in the field of sports. Vinit Gharat, was trophy of best player too. For Harshad Patil it was like repeating history, last year he as the captain of the Indian langadi team brought home the trophy and this year as the coach of Bethany Convent School, he brought home the victorious students and their medals and the trophy of best player with Vinit Gharat. --- Indeed the grand welcome with lezim (a traditional Maharahtrian culture) was needed to welcome the shining stars. We thank our Lord Almighty for all the blessings showered upon Bethany Convent School. May he continue to bless us.
