Oct 05: New history is formed not just by walking on the treaded path but by making new roads into the unknown and thus creating new models for development. Bethany Girl’s Secondary School which was begun four years ago (2014), crossed the first milestone as the first Batch of students are about to complete their O level education in November 2017. The first Graduation Day was organized for these students on the 30th September 2017 in the School Hall. Most Rev. Bishop Rogath Kimaryo Bishop of Same Diocese officiated at the Thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration which began at 9.45 am and prayed for the students. He appreciated the efforts of the sisters in standing firm among all odds and providing quality based education to the students. He encouraged the students to excel in academics and in life in order to become strong to face the challenges of the world outside. Sr Lillis, the Asst. Superior General presided over the graduation function. In her presidential address she exhorted the students to be the lights of Tanzania and also to climb the ladder of success trusting in the Lord.  


Sr Christine Noronha, The procurator General, Fr Alwyn D’ Souza, Fr Hilary and Fr Bernard concelebrated the Eucharist. Parents of the graduates, candidates, sisters from different congregations and students participated in the Eucharist. Lively and melodious singing added bliss to the occasion.


The function began at 11.45 with a guard of honour given by the band to the dignitaries of the day.  Sr Lillis, the President of the function, Most Rev. Rogath Kimaryo the Chief Guest and Mr Aaron Mbogho the District Commissioner of Mwanga as the Guest of honour, School Board Members, and invited guests were present in large number. Prayer Dance, Welcome Dance. Korean dance with props and value based skit ‘Beautiful Hands’ were the attractions of the day. Speeches by the dignitaries were in full appreciation for the sisters for their tireless efforts in bringing life in the campus. 

 
Contentment is the reward of being appreciative and grateful. This was seen on the faces of the parents of Form IV students as they expressed their joy through gifts to teaching and non teaching staff. Students who excelled in National Level exam those excelled in academics and calibre were awarded by the dignitaries. Prizes were distributed to students who won various competitions conducted by the school. Form IV students were honoured through a memento and a garland. They expressed their gratitude through song and gifts to teachers.


Sr Ruth Ann the Headmistress welcomed the gathering and Sr Antonette, the Superior and Manager of the School proposed vote of thanks to the gathering. Fr Benson, the asst Parish priest of Devine Mercy Church, Mwanga prayed the grace before meals. After the Programme all those who were present were served a sumptuous meal.
