Oct 27: In the threatening present scenario of the world affairs, it becomes imperative to inculcate the values of amity and brotherhood in the young generation.

India’s diversity of culture, religion, language, tradition and region, necessitates the need of Communal Harmony.  As it is rightly said ‘CHARITY BEGINS FROM HOME’, so our Sacred Heart Convent School, Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana made an effort to sensitize the students. As a follow up this objective, COMMUNAL HARMONY WEEK was observed from 9th October 2017 to 14th October 2017.

We organized various programmes and orientation sessions for teachers and students to achieve our motive and to make all of us-students and teachers aware about the need of Communal Harmony. A special orientation was conducted for the teachers by Father (Dr) Xavier on creating harmony within oneself and to sow the seed of harmony and integration in the students and the others who come in our association.
Another orientation session by Father Dr Xavier was conducted for the students of High School (XI & XII) on ‘Reconciliation with God and our Surroundings’. Keeping in mind the degenerating values in the youngsters, Fr Xavier emphasized on feeling the presence of Almighty within and around us and make the world to be a peaceful place to live in.
A Peace Meditation Session for the students of classes VI and VII where they were taught how to attain inner peace and feel God within and all around us.

A musical show – LIVE JAM, an entertaining and value based educational programme was also arranged to equip students with character building traits and soft skills that are necessary to build confidence and identify their unique passion. In the Inter-religious Dialogue Session, experts from different religions addressed the students of classes VIII, IX & X, where the speakers emphasized on the true meaning of harmony and ways to attain God. They concluded that the fundamental spirit of every religion is that God is one and only the ways to attain God are different according to different religions.
Many more activities like group discussions on World Peace, Poster Making, Slogan Writing and Candle Decoration were carried out to instill values of togetherness and unison.
