Building Minds – Shaping Lives
Fifty-Six years down the memory lane, we see the Divine intervention distinctly shaping the calling of Bethany as it took roots in Sultanpur. Stella Maris Convent School at Civil Lines was started on 11 July 1968 with 78 children with classes held in a tin-roofed shed. The school grew strength to strength, with its committed and humanitarian services to the society. Hence, there was a need for more space. The strenuous efforts of Sr Elsie Vas, the Superior and Principal, led to procure a plot of land measuring 3.91 acres for the Senior Secondary School at Narayanpur on 11 November 2004.
Though the new plot was in possession, the Foundation Stone of the building could be laid on 13 April 2008 by Sr Rose Celine, the Assistant Provincial Superior of Northern Province, and blessed by Fr Charles Almeida, the Parish Priest. On 3 July 2010, the newly constructed school building was inaugurated by Sr Maria Leena, the Provincial Superior and blessed by Rt. Rev. Isidore Fernandes Bishop of Allahabad Diocese.
The guidelines of CBSE enabled to rethink the school to be positioned as an individual school, as the distance between Narayanpur and Civil Lines are six kilometres. Hence, the individual School was founded on 10 April 2017 by Sr. Rose Celine BS, the President of Bethany Educational Society, Mangalore and the Superior General of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany.
The sustained interest of Sr Shaila, the Provincial Superior of Eastern Provinceand through the arduous efforts put in by Sr Shamitha the Principal and the cooperation by the sisters of the Institution, Stella Maris Convent Secondary School got the No objection Certificate from the Uttar Pradesh State Government on 15 February 2021. The school got affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi on 7 February 2022, together for secondary and senior secondary bearing the same name Stella Maris Convent Secondary School.
The school which was temporarily Recognized for Classes First to Fifth and Sixth to Eighth as for the byelaws of the State Government, got its Permanent Recognition on 26 September 2022 and 13 February 2023 respectively through the persevering efforts of Sr Roseline Clara the Principal.
The Integrated Education we see today at Stella Maris Convent Secondary School, Narayanpur is the result of the vision of the Management. The optimistic aether that prevails on the campus is due to the support of the parents and the staff.
