At the request and persuasion of the Calicut University Campus Community, St Paul’s High School was started on July 6, 1975 with Srs Canute, Prabha, Eliza and Agnesia as pioneers. The School began with 40 students on the whole, in standards V and I and in the Nursery. At that time the classes were conducted in the ‘Archana’ a building owned by the Jesuits.

The foundation stone for the new building was laid in 1976. Year after year the construction of the building continued, with the block by block addition till 1997, being furnished with 16 classrooms and an auditorium. On the occasion of the completion of 10 years of the School, St Paul’s Tailoring School was opened to train the local young women. It offers two years’ certificate course with Government recognition. The Kindergarten or Silver Jubilee Memorial block is under construction. The Higher Primary School obtained permanent recognition in 1976 and High School in 1982.  

Today, St Paul’s High School is one of the best co-educational schools in the district with 1200 students and 40 teachers on the staff.  It is a matter of pride to note the performance of our students in the Board Examination. All the 19 batches have brought glory to the School by keeping unsullied track of 100% success.

The School provides ample opportunities for the all round development of the students.  Computer Education was introduced in 1995. Every year several of our X standard students participate in the state and national level games like Handball, Softball, Basketball and Cricket; thereby adding grace marks to SSLC Examinations. The Guide Company has been functioning in our school since 1983. Later Scouts and Bulbuls too were introduced. This year 11 students have notched Rashtrapathy badges and 22 the Rajapuraskar badges. We have been able to publish two souvenirs and three issues of the school magazine. We have won even the state award for the best magazine publication.

We try our best to instil the spirit of our motto ‘Love and Service’ in our students. The manifold and indelible experience of school life stands in good stead to our ex-students, as they occupy higher echelons in different walks of life, both in and outside the country.  Our students are ever willing to share with less fortunate brethren the blessings Heaven has showered on them.

The PTA formed in 1980 is actively involved in all the programmes of the School. We also have an Alumni Association. This year we have started Mothers’ PTA. We are grateful to our devoted teachers and hardworking students and co-operating parents.

We believe that the victory of St Paul’s School is mainly due to the blessings of the almighty God. Our hearts are filled with grateful love towards our light, Jesus Christ and our patron, St Paul.
