Uppudi village in Katrenikona Mandal of East Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh is an economically, socially and educationally backward area in the coastal belt of the Bay of Bengal. Most of the people here are farmers and fisher-folk. To bring the light of knowledge and to restore the dignity of this disfigured brothers and sisters of ours Bethany Educational Society established Bethany EM School in Uppudi village. It all had a humble beginning with a KG section started on the terrace of the convent building on 13.06.2009 with Sr Annie George being the pioneering Principal and Sr Judy Varghese as the local Manager.
Thereafter Sr Sheeja took the charge of the school in the year of its affiliation to State Board of Andhra Pradesh in the year of 2011 followed by Sr Sherly Abraham for 2 years from 2012-2014. Now Sr Silvi Augustine serves the school in the capacity of the Principal from June 2014 and Sr Sheeba Anto is the local Manager. The school started with a few students is progressively growing year by year. Today Bethany EM School is a recognized high school and we have the first batch of X standard with 5 students.
