June 30: Venerable Uktara Bethany College Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh is renowned for its unique best practices besides the excellent academic performance under Rajiv Gandhi Central University, Itanagar. June 24, 2022 is yet another significant day in the history as the student representatives marched for “Nasha Se Azadi” (Freedom from Drugs) even though the college students were on vacation. As per the notification of the State and the District authority to carry on a procession proclaiming a drug free society, the troup moved with slogans and the inspirational quotes across the surrounding areas of the college. They moved to the shops where there can be a possibility of the sale of such substance which do not help the young students.
Prior to the procession, an oath was administered by Sr Janet Mendonca, the Principal that the institution will always refrain from drugs and any sort of tobacco substance that ruin the future of the young people of Arunachal Pradesh. The fervor and the enthusiasm of the students was very much highlighted throughout the procession. The untiring shouts of slogans resounded in the minds of those who witnessed such an event. Everyone was appreciative of the effort made by the college authority in promoting a healthy environment and a better place for the young people.
The steady growth of the college over the years and its performance speaks much of its quality and has won the admiration of many at the District and the State Level. One can find here a value based education, character building scenario and no doubt an excelling institution in the recent years. May Bethany be known far and wide and may God be praised!
