Dec 14: On December 6th, 2024, St. Theresa’s School organized a remarkable event aimed at fostering the holistic development of its students. While the Catechism students participated in a deeply enriching spiritual retreat, the value education students engaged in motivational programs tailored to enhance their personal growth and life skills. This initiative reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing spiritual, emotional, and intellectual well-being among its students.
Spiritual Retreat for Catechism Students:
The Catechism students attended a profound spiritual retreat led by Fr. Lester Lobo, SJ. The retreat offered moments of prayer, reflection, and introspection, encouraging students to reconnect with their inner selves. The program concluded with the Sacrament of Confession and a solemn Eucharistic celebration, providing a unique opportunity for spiritual renewal and personal strengthening.
Motivational Program for Value Education Students
The value education students, across various grades, participated in interactive and inspiring motivational sessions conducted by accomplished speakers. These sessions aimed to equip students with practical strategies to overcome challenges, communicate effectively, and maintain a balanced life.
For Grades 6 to 9:
1. Dr. Vinay Rao delivered an inspiring talk on “Building Resilience: The Power to Overcome Challenges,” empowering students to develop mental strength and adaptability.
2. Dr. Ashwini Colaco led an engaging session on communication skills, emphasizing their importance in building meaningful relationships and achieving personal goals.
3. Dr. Nishant and his team focused on mental and physical health, offering practical tips for managing stress and maintaining emotional well-being.
4. Mrs. Anjana Kamath conducted a thought-provoking session on media awareness, teaching students how to navigate the digital world responsibly and critically.
For Grades 3 to 5:
The younger students attended a specially curated program at Raymond Hall, Bethany Convent, designed to address age-appropriate topics:
1. Healthy Habits: Dr. Anupama K, Associate Professor and HOD of Pediatric Physiotherapy at Father Muller College, emphasized the importance of cleanliness, nutritious eating, physical activity, and disciplined routines.
2. Media Awareness: Mrs. Anjana Kamath sensitized students on the responsible use of media, highlighting its potential for learning and communication while warning against its misuse.
3. Puberty and Personal Safety: Dr. Ashwin Colaco provided valuable insights on the physical and emotional changes during puberty and the importance of recognizing good and bad touch.
A Holistic Approach to Education
The spiritual retreat strengthened the faith and inner resilience of the Catechism students, while the motivational sessions equipped the value education students with vital skills for personal and academic success. Together, these initiatives demonstrated St. Theresa’s School’s unwavering commitment to holistic education, fostering growth, resilience, and awareness among its students.
