The students of St. Theresa's School proudly participated in the annual Student-Farmer Rally, a vibrant event held to celebrate and support the farming community while raising awareness about sustainable agricultural practices. This initiative brought together young minds from various schools to show solidarity with farmers and advocate for environmental stewardship.

The Student-Farmer Rally, held on December 7, 2024, in Mangaluru, aimed to bridge the gap between students and the agricultural community. Organized as part of the Food Chain Campaign, the event sought to promote awareness about sustainable farming practices, food consumption, and the importance of supporting local farmers.

The rally was graced by prominent guests, including Vedavyas Kamath (MLA), progressive farmers, and experts, such as agricultural scientists from institutions like Krishi Vigyan Kendra and CPCRI Kasargod. The event also honored Padma Shri awardees Shri Sathyanarayan Beleri and Shri Amai Mahalinga Naik, who are celebrated for their contributions to traditional farming practices and sustainability efforts. Their presence underscored the significance of the event and inspired participants to value agricultural heritage and innovation.

Discussions during the event focused on improving soil health, adopting modern technologies, and diversifying crop cultivation to address challenges such as declining paddy farming and ensuring food security. Students were encouraged to make sustainable choices and advocate for local produce, thereby supporting the regional agricultural economy.

This initiative highlighted the critical role of collective action in enhancing agricultural resilience and fostering a deeper understanding of the food system.
