Jan 23: The Guwahati Province takes immense pride in being a trailblazer by hosting two significant BES Conventions: the first at Bethany School, Sulantu, from June 13th to 15th, 2024, and the second at Bethany School Gorchuk, Guwahati, from July 1st to 3rd, 2024. A total of 140 participants actively engaged in these conventions, embodying the spirit of the Platinum Jubilee Year while reflecting on the core priorities of the event. Under the astute leadership of Sr Benedicta Aranha, the Provincial Superior and Corporate Manager, and with meticulous planning by Sr Janet Mendonca, the Education Coordinator of Guwahati Province, the conventions were an overwhelming success, demonstrating that true excellence lies in performing ordinary tasks in extraordinary ways.

The conventions featured a series of impactful themes, including upholding justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity; promoting peace and harmony; caring for Mother Earth; fostering education for excellence and self-reliance; and reflecting on the evolution of BES and its conventions. These themes were adeptly addressed by distinguished speakers such as Rev. Fr Paul Pudussery CSC, Sr Janet Mendonca, Sr Joy, and Sr Edleburgh. The event’s highlights included the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, a keynote address by Sr Benedicta Aranha, various sessions on the priorities and core values of BES, dynamic discussions, and the development of action plans. The participants were captivated throughout, with the beautifully decorated venues and vibrant displays emphasizing the priorities and the founders' quotes, which added an extra dimension of grandeur to the event.

As the participants departed, they were deeply moved by the rich legacy of the Bethany Educational Society, leaving with the inspiring slogan "Long Live the Bethany Educational Society." The sense of fulfillment on their faces reflected a wealth of untapped potential and innovative ideas ready to be implemented within their institutions and personal lives. The action plans formulated on the final day provided a clear roadmap for applying the principles learned during the conventions, reinforcing their commitment to fostering "Transformative Education for the Fulness of Life through Human Fraternity." The conventions left an indelible mark on all involved, ensuring a lasting impact on their journey toward educational excellence.
