Nov 30: St. Joseph’s Convent Punjabi High school, Bathinda celebrated its Golden Jubilee ‘Safar-e-Khwab’ with great pomp and show on 23rd November 2019. Sr. Rose Celine, Superior General of Bethany Congregation was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Sr. Erasma, the Provincial Superior, Northern Province and Dr. Amrit Sethi, President, Bathinda Cycling Group graced the occasion as guests of honour.
The programme began with invoking the blessings of God. Through various art forms, approximately 450 students exhibited their talents with great enthusiasm. The concept of travelling to the past and then to the future through the time machine left the audience spell-bound. The stage performances were threaded into the string of adventures of ex-josephites as they peep into the history of the school when Mother Gemma, with the blessing of Father Raymond, planted a seed of education on the soil of Bathinda that has become a mighty oak now in the form of St. Joseph’s Convent School. The ex-josephites then peep into future and come face to face with the upcoming problems in Punjab like water scarcity, less green cover and drugs.
The Chief Guest appreciated the participants and congratulated the Principal and staff for putting forward a theme that inspires young Indians to understand themselves better and to prepare themselves for future challenges much beforehand.
The participants, though from very humble families, showcased exemplary virtuosity that has set a benchmark for others.
The program witnessed a heavy footfall and was a grand success.
